Casual Birding Outing  | |  | Join Tom Bearss, President of the Delta Naturalists’ Society for a 2.5 hour amble through the beautiful regional park overlooking Boundary Bay. View the resident and migratory inhabitants, including shorebirds, waterfowl, raptors, and smaller birds. Finish with a beverage and snack at historic Cammidge House. Free, drop-in. Night Quest  | |  | Try something new and perhaps a bit magical by visiting the park at night. We'll gather around a fire to enjoy entertainment and experience the park's nocturnal life. Visit discovery stations and watch for glowing eyes along 2 kms of lanter-lit trails. Bring a flashlight and allow an hour to complete the quest.
Come to 4915 West 16th Ave, 400m west of Blanca, and start by 9pm to enjoy the full experience. Bring a mug to use at the Girl Guides' concession. This event is wheelchair and stroller accessible.

The City partnered with Vancity to provide low interest loans to Vancouver homeowners (single-family and duplex) for energy efficiency renovations. We will be offering free workshops to show you how you can take advantage of this program. During the session we’ll explain how homeowners can: · Find out how energy efficient your home currently is and how much more efficient it can be · Get unbiased and professional advice on what you can do to save energy and reduce utility costs · Apply for up to $16,000 in low-interest loans to improve your house’s insulation, weatherization, furnaces and boilers. · Access up to $4700 in grants from the provincial LiveSmart BC program and up to $4600 in grants from the federal ecoENERGY program. The target audience for the workshops is Vancouver owners of single-family homes or duplexes, although all are welcome to attend. This session includes a 35-minute presentation followed by a Q&A session.
