Maple Ridge Town Centre

Maple Ridge Town Centre is located in the heart of the central Fraser Valley at the foot of Golden Ears Provincial Park. Of all the regional town centres, it has undergone the most significant recent transformation with the construction of a $24 million town centre project. This ambitious public-private partnership project developed new office space, civic and provincial government offices, a multi-purpose recreation centre, and a performing arts centre with gallery. It has transformed the central business district, and is helping encourage further investment and revitalization of town centre.

The District is currently finalizing a strategic Transportation Plan. It is performing an area-wide transit review with Translink and upgrading roadways, bicycle lanes and pedestrian accesses. The District’s major infrastructure focus is the Fraser River crossing, which lies in the western part of the District and will provide a major connection to areas south of the Fraser River.
Community facilities
With the development of the Maple Ridge Town Centre project, the centre now boasts a full range of community facilities and services. Centred around a park commons, the project includes: the largest and best-equipped public library in the Fraser Valley regional system; a provincial Government Agent's office and Municipal Hall; an aquatic and fitness centre; the Greg Moore Youth Centre, and; a new arts centre with a 500-seat auditorium, studio theatre and art gallery. The Town Centre also houses the community's RCMP detachment and a provincial courthouse.

In addition to these facitlities, the Memorial Peace Park hosts civic festival events, and in 2002 accommodated community events that attracted more than 30,000 visitors.
Commercial-retail/offices
The recent addition of 100,000 square feet of new office space almost doubles Maple Ridge Town Centre’s office floor space. The new town centre development borders Haney Place mall, and is fronted on two sides by local shopping streets, which provide a good mix of smaller retail stores and businesses.
As growth and investment continues in Maple Ridge Town Centre, some commercial properties and malls will likely also renovate and upgrade.
