Work parties are fun, but physically taxing and best suited to those with a basic level of fitness and agility. At this session, we’ll remove English Ivy. Wilderness at your Doorstep  | |  | Join the annual celebration of pioneer history and our truly wild regional park. Visit the 104 year old prefabricated building which houses relics of the early logging and mining days in Lynn Valley. Speak with hiking, trail and bear experts, archaeology students and enjoy free refreshments from the Tim Hortons Community Cruiser. Located at the north end of Lynn Valley Road, one kilometre past Lynn Canyon Park turnoff.

Home Energy Loan Program Presentation  | |  | You are invited to learn about the new Home Energy Loan Program! The City partnered with Vancity to provide low interest loans to Vancouver homeowners (single-family and duplex) for energy efficiency renovations. We will be offering free workshops to show you how you can take advantage of this program. During the session we’ll explain how homeowners can: · Find out how energy efficient your home currently is and how much more efficient it can be · Get unbiased and professional advice on what you can do to save energy and reduce utility costs · Apply for up to $16,000 in low-interest loans to improve your house’s insulation, weatherization, furnaces and boilers. · Access up to $4700 in grants from the provincial LiveSmart BC program and up to $4600 in grants from the federal ecoENERGY program. The target audience for the workshops is Vancouver owners of single-family homes or duplexes, although all are welcome to attend. This session includes a 35-minute presentation followed by a Q&A session.
