  • Teachers or adult supervisors are required (1 adult per 15 students)
  • Transportation must be provided by the school
  • Safety vests & hard hats required (will be provided)
  • Close toed shoes are required (No high-heels or open-toes)

Metro Vancouver of waste management facilities provide unique, direct and local learning experiences that act as a catalyst to engage students and enrich curriculum-connected teaching and learning.

Tours are led by facility operations professionals who provide first hand insight into how these facilities work and the challenges they face.

Facility Tour Conditions:
A limited number of facility tours are available. Classroom teachers must complete facility tour request forms and meet all requirement. Tours are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Tours range from 1 to 2 hours in duration.

 

Waste Management Facilities - Metro Vancouver’s garbage from homes and businesses is taken to transfer stations and then to the Landfill or the Waste to Energy Facility.
