Aldergrove Lake Regional Park Management Plan
The process to create a park management plan for Aldergrove Lake Regional Park with public involvement is underway. Join us to learn more about the park, and share your ideas on what you think the park should include.

Results from the November 2011 Working Session and the June 2011 Open House will inform the development of the concept plan, to be presented at a second Open House, coming up in Spring 2012 (stay tuned - date TBA). Thanks for your participation and interest!

The management plan will set up a policy framework that helps to express a common understanding of the park’s future (vision, goal & objectives), identify opportunities and constraints for various park uses, make management intentions transparent, and the decisions of staff and management accountable.

Colony Farm Sustainability Plan and Academy for Sustainable Food Production – Draft

The Colony Farm Regional Park Sustainability Plan and Academy for Sustainable Food Production report is now circulating for public comment. The plan provides a vision for the park and the proposed Academy and recommends: re-introduction of agriculture to the site; improved recreation opportunities; and enhancement of fish and wildlife habitat. Metro Vancouver with partners intends the Academy to facilitate and promote agriculture and food research, support networking, provide advice, and deliver public education and training programs. Other park initiatives will seek co-operation with community groups and First Nations and deliver programs and activities supportive of a number of areas of interest described in the “Metro Vancouver Sustainability Framework” and the “Regional Parks and Greenways Plan”.

 Experience the Fraser

The Experience the Fraser Project will celebrate the Fraser River’s natural and cultural heritage, enhance outdoor recreation opportunities, showcase the regions’ riverfront communities and promote the Lower Fraser River Corridor as one of the world’s great tourist destinations. This project will connect residents and visitors with communities, nature and the river by creating an opportunity for over 300 kilometres of multi-use trail and related amenities along the Fraser River from Hope to the Strait of Georgia.
